Contour and More Highlighter

So, a while ago an Instagrammer called Contour and More Cosmetics followed me. Obviously I followed them back straight away seeing it was a make up brand. The creator of Contour and More makes and sells her own highlighters, so I thought I should try one out.

I purchased a small pan called 'Pearl' for around a tenner, now it's my favourite highlighter. It's bright white and so so shimmery. The best thing about this little gem though, there's no glitter so there is no way you'll end up looking like a disco ball the flash photography hits you on a night out.

If you are a pale gal like me, this is perfect. I struggle to find cheap(ish) highlighters that will suit my cool pink skin tone, but this does the job.

The texture of the highlighter is a a tad more rough than most. But honestly, it doesn't change the quality of the highlighter on the skin. The little guy comes in a cute little compact and even has a mirror in it.

Contour and More have about 27k instagram followers but deserve so much more. They are banging out amazing products left, right and centre including liquid highlighters and glitter pressed pigments (which are insane, by the way). I will definitely be going back to their online shop very, very soon.

You can pick  up some products here.

Sleek Highlighting Palettes

New. Highlighting. Palettes. Three magic words everyone loves to hear. I've seen these Sleek highlighting palettes float around blogs a lot recently and only £9.99 each (2 for £12 at Boots now go go go) I needed to snatch them up quickly.

Solstice Palette
Ecliptic                                     Hemisphere                                     Subsolar                                   Eqinox

Precious Metals Palette
Plaitnum                            Antique Gold                              Royal Gold                             Renaissance Gold

Both palettes are so pigmented! I mean you can see the glow for yourself in the swatch pictures. My favourite colour has got to be Hempishere (the pink shade from the Solstice palette). I can also imagine Plaitnum giving a pretty intense glow. I cannot wait to start playing with these now I've snapped them and written this post.

For the Love of Lipstick

Birthday Suit - Caramel Infused - Barely There 06 - Velvet Teddy - Spiced - Soft Berry 05

I’m all for bright, deep and colourful lipsticks, but during the day I just don’t think it suits me the same. So, here are my top daytime lipsticks!

Sleek Matte Me Gloss in Birthday Suit

I snatched this little beauty up a couple weeks ago and it’s definitely one of my all-time faves. Sleek describes it as a matte gloss, but it’s basically a matte liquid lipstick. I have super dry lips but this never flakes on me. Best part, they’re only £4.99! I tried out the L.A Girl’s version of a liquid lip which is the same price and they were AWFUL. Sleek is definitely the better choice.

Maybelline Color Elixir in Cameral Infused 065

I’m not a huge fan of lip glosses but I loved the colour of this and found myself wearing it A LOT. This lipgloss also looks fab over Velvet Teddy and Birthday Suit.

Essence Long Lasting Liptick in Barely There 06

I haven’t tried many things from Essence, I’ve tried a few products after my friend had double and saw the brand in Wilkos (not somewhere you think to buy make up, I know) but who doesn’t love a cheap lipstick? This is only £2.30 and theres a lot of shades in the range. I’ve even turned some of my friends on this lipstick for their go-to nude.

MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

Does this even need discussing? Velvet Teddy has quickly become a classic by MAC among Whirl, Rebel and so many others. This colour is always my back up, if I can’t decide I’ll gravitate towards this one as it pretty much goes with everything.

Rimmel Lipliner in Spiced

I love using this lipliner with Velvet Teddy, Birthday Suit and Caramel Infused. It’s such a versatile shade and makes a lipstick look a little different.

Essence  Lipliner in Soft Berry 05

This has been my favourite lipliner for a year and its nearly at its end! I got this the same time as the Essence lipstick and paired together they look amazing. The Essence lipstick and liner combo was my first choice for a very long time. And to top it all off, it’s only £1.

Beauty Bay Hauling

I’m always browsing Beauty Bay. A beauty website full of American brands that are usually harder to get in the UK, I’m obsessed and it’s obvious why. Making a few purchases on the site, and finally finding the Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette, which everyone and their sister has been obsessing over.

Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette

This palette is made of a warm-girls dreams. I’ve seen it everywhere over social media and been lusting over it ever since. Filled with twenty insanely beautiful warm-toned eyeshadows, I couldn’t help myself but swatching it before I took photos.

Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray in Green Tea

This stuff smells amazing! There are five different scented sprays in the range, including this one; the others are lemongrass, lavender, peach and jasmine. I haven’t used a setting spray in a very long time and eager to see if it keeps me slaying all day long.

Morphe #747S Eyelashes

I’ve recently become obsessed with false eyelashes, now I’ve perfected them I don’t want to go back. I saw these whilst browsing the site and thought they’d be perfect for a volumized lash look. These lashes are shorter than most so all the volume will be focused at the base of your lashes.

Morphe Eyeshadow Brushes; G24, M441 and M521

I’ve been using Morphe Brushes for a long time now, and every brush or palette I purchase I’m never disappointed. I’ve been loving their fluffy blending brushes recently so thought I’d try a couple more.

Free Gift: Michael Todd Pumpkin Rich Facial Mask

Another fabulous thing about Beauty Bay is if you spend a certain amount you can choose an item out of a range of free gifts. I saw this Michael Todd face mask and having heard A LOT of good things and the brand, especially the charcoal range; I decided to give this a go.

Don't forget to Snap and Share your Beauty Bay Haul!

MAC Zoom Waterfast Lash Mascara

Recently, I made a small purchase on MAC Cosmetics. Like most other beauty addicts, I adore MAC. I repurchased a favourite of mine the Studio Fix Fluid and decided I wanted a new mascara. I love trying out new mascaras because I have a major problem preventing them from running down my eyes so I'm always in search for my perfect one.

I've seen so many posts about the MAC Zoom Waterfast Lash Mascara and I finally caved a bought it! MAC says this mascara is just the same as the original but it provides up to 12 hours of smudge-proof wear against tears, sweat, humidity and water. Although I haven't worn this mascara for 12 hours, it does last a very long time through my job as a waitress, days out in the sun and in cold weather.

This masacara legnthens and seperates my lashes beautifully! I have really short eyelashes so this is just the mascara I need. I brush itself it quite little, it's the normal fibre brush (longer at the bottom and shorter at the top). The short bristles at the top of the brush let you reach the short and awkward eyelashes in the inner corner. As I said previously, I have a problem with finding a mascara that dosent run. I've discovered that my mascara only runs if I use it on my bottom lashes. I used this mascara on my bottom lashes and unfortuantely, it still smudged, which is my only negative.

Overall I LOVE this mascara at £14.50 a pop, it is more expensive than your typical mascara, although it's not the most expensive which is my reasoning for when I repurchase it!

Have you tried this mascara, what do you think about it?

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick

Recently I have discovered how much I love the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks, these aren't Revlon's most popular lipstick (the Lip Butters and Matte/ Laquer Lip Balms being far more publicized). I only have four of these lipsticks, but I plan to purchase a lot more!

There are a total of 20 lipsticks in the collection, but only 14 available at Boots; ranging from nudes, to berries, pinks and reds. They reatil for £8.99 each but are being sold for 2 for £10 at Boots, so stock up!

These lipsticks are matte, and when I say matte I mean they define the matte finish. So, if you have dry lips I wouldn't suggest this product, maybe a Revlon Lip Butter instead. I own four of these and the staying power is unbelievable, I'm talking a good five-six hours before you need to top up. I wore Couture 050 to my Leavers Prom and I kept topping up thinking it was wearing off when my friend told me it looked the same the whole night! I wore Preview 070 to a wedding reception then on a night out and I only had to reapply a couple times! The whole night was from 7pm to 3am so it's safe to say it lasts!

Womanswear 010

As much as  I love this lipstick, it's a weird one. When you first apply Womanswear it goes on quote glossy and as a light pink, then as it dries it goes to the familiar sticky- matte finish. It's still a beautiful colour through, it's a light pink with some violet tones.

Preview 070

To me, Preview seems one or two shades darker than Womanwear and a bit more of a 'dirty pink'. I love this lipstick because I think these shades suit me best. Preview also have the violet tones added and a blue undertone.

Couture 050

This is a deep berry-red shade with a strong blue undertone, so it will make your teeth look really white. This lipstick could be my favourite red lip! Out of the four I own this is the most matte so I would suggest exfoliating your lips before applying the this lipstick.

Backstage 035

This is my favourite shade, it does look really dark in the tube but on lips it sheers out slightly to a beautiful berry shade. This is going to be my number one shade for Autumn/ Winter this year

Prom FOTN

Although my Leavers Prom was about a month ago I didn't get around to started my blog, writing the post and taking the pictures till now. This is my first ever blog post, I'm so excited to do it but so nervous so bare with me.

The Base

For my face make up I used Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser, this kept my make up lasting longer which is what I wanted for this special occasion. Although it did not completely erase my pores, it did fill them in a bit so my foundation wouldn't be which is a big problem for me when I don't use a primer.
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
I used my beloved MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW10. I LOVE this foundation I literally cannot say a bad word about it. I love the coverage, the finish just everything!
This won't come as a shock to many people, for concealer I used Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. Again I cannot say a bad word about this product it's my holy grail concealer.
Lastly powder, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent. my skin often changes on how oily or dry it is. At prom my skin wasn't especially oily so I didn't use a lot of powder mainly under my eyes because I suffer from awful creasing and I dabbed some around my t-zone.

I don't tend to use blusher and bronzer on a daily basis, so I haven't spent a lot of money on the products. To contour my cheeks, forehead and jawline I used MUA Matte Bronzer. I got this for only £1 it is a bit on the orange side but because I'm super pale I don't use a lot of it. For blusher I used ELF Studio blusher on Peachy Keen, I love ELF products and this doesn't disappoint! I have naturally very red cheeks so I tend to avoid pink blushers, this peach blush gives me a beautiful flush of colour without making me look constantly embarrassed!

The Eyes

I didn't use false eyelashes as I'm not comfortable applying and wearing them yet so I stuck with mascara. I used the L'oreal Million Lashes Excess mascara in Waterproof Black. I didn't actually realise how many different types of million lashes mascara there are (a new one called 'Couture' has just been released). This mascara is a great choice; it seperated my lashes beautifully and it stayed up all night!

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess

I used a mix of eyes shadows to complete my eye look; the first was Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze this was my which prevented the eye creases!
The next eyeshadow I used for all over the lid L'oreal Colour Riche L'Ombre Pure in Nude 204, I am in love with this eyeshadow! Unfortunately mine cracked and got all over my make up bag and other products but the texture and pigmentation of the eyeshadow is just beautiful. This eyeshadow is gel-based which makes the texture silky smooth!
Lastly I used a matte dark brown eyeshadow for the crease and lower lash line, I used one from MUA in Shade 19 (again only £1) this eyeshadow isn't the best quality but it did the job well enough!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo - L'Oreal Colour Riche - MUA Matt Eyeshadow

I used two products for my eyebrows; the L'oreal Paris Artiste Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brun and the Essence Stylist Eyebrow Powder. I used the pencil to define my brows and the powder to fill them in, I love using powder to fill in my brows because it makes them look so full!

The Lips

For lips I used my favourite lip product at the moment, Revlon Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 050 Couture. Im in love this range of lipsticks they stay put for hours and the pigmentation is amazing. I think the red really complimented the gold on my eyes. This colour also has qiote a strong blue undertone, which helped make my teeth look white.
